Carbaryl • Posted 2 years, 1 month ago. #1. What is its use?
It is in insecticide which controls over 100 species of insects on fruit, cotton, forests, lawns, nuts, poultry, pets, and livestock. It works whether it is ingested of the "pest" or absorbed through direct contact.2. Benefits:
Keeps the insects at bay...3. Harm:
There are teratogenic, mutagenic, carcinogenic, and organ toxicity effects. However, many of those risks are listed as "slight". Often times, humans and animals break down carbaryl and excrete it in the urine and feces. The big problem is that carbaryl unintentionally kills many nontarget insects. The honeybee population usually suffers in a sprayed area. Carbaryl is also toxic to marine organisms such as rainbow/lake trout, bluegill, and cutthroat. -
