As we go through the year I hope we are able to get to know each other a little. Here is some information about me to give you a head start on getting to know me.
Like so many other teachers, I love to read. I read many different things: the newspaper, everyday (almost); magazines, internet websites, but most of all books of all genres (mainly but not limited to adult non-fiction US History books and fifth grade fiction novels). I did go to a midnight release party for Harry Potter, but I didn't get dressed up like Mrs. Aegerter did.
One thing I also love is watching movies. I am an avid user of Netflix and love getting my movie in the mail to watch. I also have been collecting Pez's since I was in college. My collection is growing, so be sure to check the windowsills (they can be seen from outside) but be careful not to touch because they fall over like dominos.
I have been married for five years (almost - it will be five years in Nov.) and my wife is now a third grade teacher at another school in Pflugerville ISD. I moved to Austin from Pennsylvania, where I grew up and went to college.
Currently I am taking classes to earn a Masters degree with Concordia University. It has been fun being a student again and learning about my classroom. It also means that on Tuesdays I leave school and have to go to class for four hours. So if something is due on Tuesday, you probably won't see it returned on Wednesday.
The last thing I will share before the year starts is that my wife and I recently purchased a home in Pflugerville. So now I have to spend time on the weekends doing many things that you and your families do, mow the lawn, trim the hedges, work on painting rooms new colors, lots of fun things to do. We are both excited about this change in our life.
