HOUSE X/English 8, 2011-2012
Mrs. Marshall
Dear Students,
Welcome to 8th grade and House X. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and having a great year together. I would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I have been teaching English for over 15 years. I am married and have 3 children—grade 9, grade 5 and grade 3. I grew up in Pennsylvania, so I really enjoy living in Cleveland and the Browns/Steelers rivalry!
While you may or may not love writing, reading, vocabulary—and even grammar—like I do, I hope that you will enjoy our class and learn to like English even more than before. I am looking forward to a great year and want you all to know that it is important that we all show respect towards each other, and that if you have concerns about the class, you can feel free to discuss those with me at any time.
On the back of this letter you will find the following important information: rules, grades, units and needed supplies.
