AR Goals
Each child is responsible for meeting AR goals each six weeks. These goals are to be assigned each six weeks. These will increase as the year progresses.
Every six weeks students will read, test and earn stickers for prizes. For every AR point each student earns, I will give them a sticker. These stickers will be placed on an incentive chart in his or her AR folder. They will receive prizes for every 5 points reached up to 20. These goals are for each six weeks grading period. Meaning points will not carry over when the six weeks is finished.
Point Prizes are as follows:
5 points earned= Student will earn a prize from the treasure box
10 points earned= Student will be able to each lunch in classroom with the teacher. They will also be allowed to bring a buddy with them.
15 points earned= Student will be allowed to bump a seat in classroom for a day. Meaning, student will be allowed to sit wherever they choose and by the student of choice.
20 points earned= Students will earn coupon for ice cream or cookie. This is to be redeemed in school cafeteria. If student loses coupon it will not be reissued.
Students will be taught how to choose a book on his or her level. They will be instructed about how to know if a book is too hard, too easy, or just right for them.
These incentives are subject to change. They will be given out a certain day of each week. These are intended to motivate and not to hender. Special situations will be considered if needed by classroom teacher.
