Welcome to the new school year!  I want your child to have a fun and successful year in Kindergarten.  It is my privilege to teach your child and assist you in training them for God.  Our theme for the year is “Hearts and Minds for God.”  It truly is my desire to develop kids that love and know God. Let’s make this a great year!

Above I have listed the school phone number.  Please feel free to contact me if there are situations that need to be discussed.   The best times to reach me at school are from 7:45a.m.-8:00a.m. and 3:15p.m.-3:45p.m.  I am always willing to schedule a conference at any time! Please look in your child’s backpack each day.  Your child will have a DAILY FOLDER to carry work and notes back and forth to school in his/her backpack. We send all school news by way of your child in your child’s FRIDAY FOLDER.  These folders will come home every Friday and are to be sent back each Monday.  Please send all notes, money and other important things you want me to find to school in your child’s folder.  Be positive and value the work your child has done at school. 

We will have a small snack each morning.  If you can donate crackers for our snack time it would be greatly appreciated!   I will send home requests for snacks throughout the year as needed. 

We will have sharing on Friday afternoons. Please feel free to let your child bring something they enjoy from home. Some weeks there will be themes, but I will let you know ahead of time. The first week, each child will be bringing home a “Me Bag.” They are to put one or more items in it that helps describe them. This can be anything that will fit in the bag.

I have included a Kindergarten Questionnaire with this letter. Please fill this out and return with your child the first day of school.

1 plastic pencil box

1 pair of good scissors (the little Fiskars are great)

5 pencils

1 bottle of glue

2 glue sticks

1 Box of Crayons, no more than 16 please

1 spiral notebook (wide lined)

1 folder

1 book bag (no wheels please, they won't fit into our lockers)

1 box of snack crackers to share with the class (Please make sure they do not contain peanuts or are processed on equipment that processes peanuts)

1 large box of tissues

1 pair of old “outside” shoes

Rest Mat, these can be found at Wal-Mart/Target for around $10 

Student may choose to bring a towel to cover up with during rest time
