Study Project Guidelines

This semester some of my students are working on an independent study project.  For those who are completing that project, the guidelines are as follows:

The project can be on a self-selected topic, and should be a topic of interest to the student.

Examples include:

a country (ex. Mexico)

an animal/insect (ex. praying mantis, cougars)

a concept (ex. biochemistry, algabraic functions, electricity)

personal interest (ex. classical music)

an environmental issue (ex. greenhouse gas, global warming)

information (ex. the candidates for the 2008 presidential election)

Students may select topics that are not on this list. Remember, this is a topic of interest, so make sure its something in which you are interested!

Students are not required, but are encouraged to submit a tri-fold cardboard presentation which will be displayed somewhere in the school. Picture examples can be seen at: http://www.oberlin.k12.oh.us/talent/gtISFinfo.html

Here is a link to the critique form I will be using (created by Oberlin School District).
