Dear Families,
Welcome to Kindergarten! This is going to be such an exciting year and I cannot wait to get started! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and my assistant, Cathy Wald.
My name is Sophie Lee and I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher. I graduated from New York University with a degree in Elementary Education. I also received a Master's from New York University in Bilingual and Special Education. I have been teaching for15 years and I still get excited about teaching and learning! I absolutely love teaching and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. I cannot wait to start another exciting year!
I currently live in Cumming, GA with my husband and our two wonderful children. My son, Christopher is a Junior at South Forsyth H.S. and my daughter, Jessica is a 7th grader at Piney Grove M.S. Aside from teaching, I love to cook, read, and play golf with my family.
Mrs. Wals has been working with Kindergarteners at State Bridge Crossing Elementary School for 12 years. She loves this time in a child's life. She feels so fortunate to be able to be a part of your child's life. On a personal note, Mrs. Wald is married, for 35 years. She has four daughter and one grand-daughter. Three of her daughters are married and the youngest attends The University of West Georgia. She has been a resident of Alpharetta for 20 years. Mrs. Wald loves to bake, sew, and spend time with her family.
Throughout the upcoming year, we are going to study and learn about a lot of different & interesting things. There are many ways you can help your child to be successful in school. Give lots of praise for work well done, and most importantly, read with your child! In doing this, you can be an active participant in your child’s education.
