About Mrs. Fenwick

I am Michelle Fenwick, a veteran teacher and 6-year employee of the Madison CUSD 12.  I earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and have completed Master's work at University of Missouri St. Louis.  I am certified to teach English and Language Arts, Social Studies and Social Science, US History, Health Education, and Biology.  I also have approval from the state of Illinois to teach Special Education.

I have been teaching in alternative settings since 1996.  I began my career at Coordinated Youth and Human Services in Granite City as a teacher's assistant.  After earning my degree, I became a teacher.  I spent 6 years at the Alton Catholic Children's Home as a special education teacher, working with children from Kindergarten through 12th grade.  I came to MSSC in 2006.

I have a passion for working with kids who need something different from traditional education.  I find that meeting the challenges of working with these students is fulfilling and exciting, and that the rewards of such work are well worth the struggles I encounter.

I am married and have 3 children of my own, 2 boys and a girl.  We have 3 cats for pets.  My family enjoys boating and fishing, board games, and worshipping together at our church.
