About Me.....
I would like to take this time to introduce myself. My name is Steve Rockwell and this is my 15thyear of teaching, including 8 years at LMS. I am originally from Maryland but I have lived in Virginia, South Carolina, Florida, and now Georgia.
I am married to my wife Paula and we have two daughters. Sydney is 17 and a junior at LHS and Lara is 10 and in the 5th grade at LES. The rest of our family consists of four dogs that we have rescued. Their names are: Stockton, Malone, Nash, and JoJo. They are all named (except JoJo) after professional basketball players. I am an avid sports fan. We also adopted a cat that we have named Sammy.
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree at Radford University in Virginia. I then went to the University of South Florida where I earned my Masters degree in Educational Leadership. Three years ago I earned my Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lincoln Memorial University in Knoxville, Tennessee.
This past year my students had a 94% pass rate on the Social Studies portion of the CRCT, with close to 50% exceeding. I was very proud of them and look forward to even better scores this year!
