Week of Feb. 6th, 2011
Homework:
Mrs. Miller's homework policy is, your child will be given vocabulary words every week. Your child should study these words at home--your child doesn't need to spell these words but they need to be able to read them and understand each word. They will be given a vocabulary test every week and they must be able to read a sentence and be able to pick out the vocabulary word that is missing in the sentence. Your child will be given spelling words each work that they must study--some ideas of how to do this will be listed in your child's homework folder. In that homework folder there also maybe a math sheet to complete as well. Finally your child MUST read a book every night and it MUST be written in their agenda.
Birthdays--Many of you would like to celebrate your child's birthday by sending in cupcakes, chips, drinks etc. That would be fine by me but I would like to hold off on the treats until Friday afternoon's. This way we can celebrate your child's birthday during Fun Friday. Our Fun Friday time is 1:30-1:55 every Friday afternoon. Please let me know if you do plan on sending on in a treat for your child's birthday so I can be prepared for those treats. Thanks :)

**Please remember that the tardy bell rings at 8:00. If your child comes to school any later then that they will have to go to the office to get a tardy slip. Due to 2nd grade having first block if your child walks in tardy they will automatically recieve hot lunch. If you have a doctor's appointment or another appointment please write a note to me, e-mail or call so I know that they will be tardy or absent. When your child is absent please write a short note in their agenda to why they were out. If I don't recieve a note, your child's attendance will reflect that it was an unexcused absent.**
