This Week
Week of November 16
Note: The flu has arrived in room 103. Several students have been out of school with fever, cough, runny nose, etc. Please remember that your child must be free of fever for 24 hours before he or she can return to school. We are working hard on handwashing during the school day and disinfect the classroom after the children leave.
It would be helpful if you could talk to your child about covering coughs and sneezes with their elbows and washing hands after blowing/wiping their noses. Thanks.
Gobble, gobble! Room 103 is going to be overrun with turkeys this week! Children will be doing turkey reading, turkey math, turkey art, turkey songs. . .
We will continue working on Wh questions, this time with a Thanksgiving spin: Where is the turkey? Who has the mashed potatoes? What do we eat at Thanksgiving, etc. Students will do a color-by-number turkey and play a color-based turkey feather game. We will count turkeys, too, and practice our manners by learning to say, "Please pass the stuffing," "May I have more pumpkin pie?"
We will read stories about turkeys and Thanksgiving and will end the week with a turkey-related art project.
