Star Students

Every student in Room 8 is astar. But one student shines brighter than usual when (s)he is Room 8's "Star Student." Our "Star Student" holds the title for one week. On Friday, (s)he gives a presentation in front of the class sharing her/his talents and interests. So far, we have enjoyed lively presentations from the following students: Amara, Lucia, Gillian, Owen, Geriah, Braden, Olivia, Imix, Mohamed, George, Andy, Aidan, Zach, Michaela, Jett, Carleigh, Vienna, Aiden, and Nathan. We are looking forward to seeing more of our classmates share with us through the school year.
Field Trips

A variety of enrichment trips have been scheduled this year. Permission slips for each trip go home several weeks beforehand. A signed permission form with health insurance information is required for each activity that takes place off campus.
Mark your calendars for the following field trips:
- May 7: Cal Performances, "Sweet Honey in the Rock"
- May 18: Junior Center of Art and Science, "Observe and Compare"
- June 8: Lawrence Hall of Science, "Animal Homes"
Parents, please note: If you sign up to drive on a field trip, you must submit an insurance form for each field trip. Thank you for your cooperation!
