Homework
Homework for our class can be found in your child's Homework Folder. The Take Home Folder/Behavior Log has papers that are begin sent home as well as a reading log. Please be sure to check the calendar each night as it serves as the Behavior Log.
In their Homework folder, you will find:
- A math log which includes homework each night of the week except for Friday. Math logs include math skills taught the week before.
- A "Minute Math" sheet to be completed by Friday.
- A new spelling list every Monday. Your child will be responsible for doing the spelling assignment or activity each night. See the bottom of the sheet for each night's assignment.
- A story for reading and comprehension that is to be completed by Friday each week.
- The Reading Log is in the Take Home Folder. Use the Log to record your child's reading. Your child should be reading for at least 15-20 minutes each night.
* Please sign or initial each night's work so I know you've have checked it.
* Occasionally, a phonics reader will be sent home. Please read this book with your child and help them decode words with the phonics "chunk" we are working on.
* Extra homework may be sent to help your child work on a skill we are focusing on that week.
The Behavior Log is in the Take Home Folder. Please be sure to check the log each night and initial the date if your child has a comment written for that day. Talk with your child about the comment and what he or she can do to make better choices the next day.
