Support a family till May 13th.

Dear friends of Ascension Parish and family,

Many of you have heard of David Humes’ quest to win a Wheelchair Accessible Van either at mass or in Father Tobin’s eScroll newsletter.  David and his family are an Ascension parish family.  I have had the pleasure of getting to know their oldest daughter Natasha while serving on the Ascension Catholic Teen (ACT) ministry (high schoolers) team.  Those who know this family have been touched by their faith and strength.

Can I ask you to please find a moment in each day from now until May 13th to go online and cast a daily vote for David.  Your ability to type and click and perform such a simple act of kindess can go a long way to help this family.  Go to: http://www.nmeda.com/mobility-awareness-month/heroes/florida/melbourne/947/david-humes

You can vote daily from different computer servers (i.e. home, work, your phone, your friends’ houses).  As of this morning David was under 5000 votes.  From what we’re hearing there are several other Local Heros reaching 7000 votes.  So there is some catching up to do!  Use the Promo Code of 862 to triples your vote, but it only works one time.

Many blessing to you for your moment of time.

Thanks!

Reuben, Rita, Chase and Carson Chavez

P.S. I have reached out to many people on this email because I felt this family is worthy of asking for each of your time.  Please rest assured this is a one-time email from me.

College Project outline

You will be researching information to help you narrow your decision for a college choice.

You will NEED a flashdrive/memory stick  to save all your college information!

You need to select 4 universities/colleges to compare.  Among the four you need to include  all of these criteria:

a. an in-state school

b. an out-of-state school

c. a private school

d. a public school

e. a small school (under 10,000 students)

f. a large school (over 15,000 students)

Today, you should read the following articles  on selecting a college, then you should look at additional websites to select the 4 colleges you will compare.

Narrow Your Search

The search for the perfect school begins with a broad survey of the options, but at some point you need to narrow down your choices to those schools to which you will apply. In other words, you need to come up with your "short list." These articles will help guide you in the process.

At the end of this project, you will be required to submit a bibliography, so create one as you are going along for each website you consult.  You may use easybib.com if you want to create an account there.

Save ALL of this material on a flashdrive and back it up on your computer at home.
