Third Quarter Math-timed math tests

We will be spending a lot of time during the third quarter mastering all addition and subtraction facts (fluency) 1-20. We consider the student "fluent" if 20 addition or subtraction problems can be solved accurately in 60 seconds. We will be starting with the 0 rule and students will be working up from there. These sites will help the children build their stamina. Some of them really give that video game feel, so hopefully they'll enjoy playing these math games on line. As always, thank you for the support

Common Core and NYS Standards

The Common Core State Standards Initiative is a state-led effort coordinated by the National Governors Association Center for Best Practices (NGA Center) and the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO). The standards were developed in collaboration with teachers, school administrators, and experts, to provide a clear and consistent framework to prepare our children for college and the workforce.
