Choir Outfits

A.     Formal Attire

1.    Boys and Girls:
  1. Jewelry: No watches, bracelets, rings, or necklaces.
  2. Hair:  Must be normal-colored and regular shaped.  Hair must be pulled back and pinned, clipped or sprayed to STAY away from the face and out of the eyes (boys, too!) Long bangs block the singer’s ability to see the director and cause a distraction when singers sling their hair to see.  Items used to secure hair (bobbie pins, barrettes, etc.) should match the singer’s hair color so they are not distracting.
  3. Hems:  Slacks and skirt hems must touch the top of the foot in front and not drag the ground anywhere (not bunched up at the bottom.)  Hems should be even and ironed.
2.    Girls:
  1. Outfit:  Black skirt and silver sequined top.
  2. Shoes: Solid black with a closed heel, toe, and sides.  No decorations (shiny buckles, sequins, etc.) that would distract the eye.   Shoes or boots must be comfortable for the singer to wear when walking or standing at a performance.
  3. Ankle/leg covering: black knee-highs, pantyhose, or black socks unless the girl is wearing tall black boots.
3.    Boys:
  1. Black dress slacks
  2.  Banded collar tux shirt (with black studs and button cover)
  3. Silver Vest
  4. Black shoes
  5. Black socks

The formal choir outfits have arrived and are being processed and sorted.  The choir polos should be ready by the end of the month.  As soon as the choir polos come in, I will notify you of when you can pick up your child's outfit.  Don't forget, unless you have paid for your child's outfit, it will not be released to you.   The last date for payment on choir outfits is Monday, November 17.  That gives you two weeks before the Christmas concert to have the pants/skirt hemmed.

Choir Outfit Cost:

"New" Choir Girls: Formal outfit (includes:silver blouse and black skirt) and Choir Polo with monogrammining: $90.00

You are responsible for getting black dress shoes for your singer's outfit.  Please be sure that they are comfortable and have a closed toe and back.  (There is nothing more embarrassing than to trip going up the risers due to a footwear malfunction.)

The girls' skirts and the guys' pants will need to be hemmed.   It is YOUR responsibility to have the pants or skirt hemmed.  If you know of a good seamstress or tailor please share their contact information with me so I can pass it on to other parents who may be looking for someone.   I do have the name of one seamstress that would be willing to hem some of the pants/skirts.  Let me know if you need her services and I'll try arrange a time when she can meet with you.   Many dry cleaners also have people who perform this type of service.   The sooner you have paid for the outfit, the more time you will have to get the pants or skirt hemmed.

Please have your singer wear their black dress shoes when they are fitted for the hem length.  The height of the heel will affect the length of the hem.  Girls skirts should be hemmed to the bottom of the ankle.   PLEASE have your female singer pull her skirt up to her NATURAL WAIST not only for the hemming but also for performances.  I know it is "the style" to wear pants and skirts low on the hips but if they do, they could show flesh when they raise their arms in these outfits.
