Spelling Strategy

If a student is having trouble with spelling, use this multisensory approach:

The student writes each spelling word with their finger on top of any surface (i.e. carpet, table, placemat, box of sand or salt) as they orally say each letter.  This is "training the brain" to keep the letters in their correct order. For students who have difficulty with spelling, this must be practiced daily.
