Important Notes
I am so delighted to be your child's Kindergarten teacher this school year. I am looking forward to getting to know you and to help your child achieve to their full potential. We are going to have a frogtastic year!
"Welcome to Kindergarten!" It is truly an exciting year for you and your child. Some people think that kindergarten is a place to play, but we do a lot more than that. We actually learn to read, do math skills from basic AB patterning to addition and a variety of other things. Parents, in order to be successful with your child, we will need all the help and support that you can provide to us. We ask some important things from you:
1. Always check their Green Folders; there sometimes will be very important papers to be sign or just information about getting out of school early.
2. As we know, accidents can happen. Please bring your child a change of clothes to leave in the lockers. They do not have to be new.
3. Remember, we ask that you ask your child everyday how their day has been and what they learned today. If there is problem, we want to know about it immediately. Please let us tell our side of the story before you get upset over something.
4. If you need to meet with me, please call and set up an appointment assuring that that time will be set aside to focus mainly on you and your child.
5. We always want you to volunteer in our classroom, however, in this day and age for the protection of your child you will be required to fill out an information package so the district can do a background. However, please feel free to be involved in your child's education. You are the parent. If there is something you do not understand, please contact me at the above number.
6. Each month I will send a scholastic book home. It is important that a child reads what they like. If you purchase something from scholastic magazine, please be sure that it is age appropriate. You do not have to buy anything! I am so glad and thankful to have your child in my room! Let's have that Frogtastic Year!
Homework Policy
I will assign a homework packet every Monday. The packet will contain work that is a reinforcement of what we are currently working on in the classroom. Have your child complete one to two pages a night. The packets are due every Friday. If your child brings back there packet they will receive stickers for their chart. At the end of the month if your child's has 85% of there stickers they will receive the monthly award.
