About Being GREEN
Growing up I enjoyed playing outdoors, swimming in the lake, boating - skiing and tubing, snowmobiling and down hill skiing, playing sports was also a big part of my life.
A fun fact about me: when I was in high school I was a four year varsity basketball player, and three year varsity softball player. I used to pitch in the 60 mph range!
Funny how these activities are still things that I enjoy and am able to do!
Now I also enjoy watching the FoodNetwork - Giada DeLaurentis is my favorite chef to watch! I get so many great recipes that are healthy and delicious for my family. Cooking and baking, scrapbooking, soduko puzzles, shopping, and playing with my two girls are all things I love.
When I was in junior high, I played basketball and softball. These were my true loves in high school as well. I was a four year varsity player in basketball, and three year varsity player for softball - my older sister was the catcher at the time I was a freshman, and I also was a catcher! (She was really good!) I then turned into a pitcher and loved it! Hey, I even threw 201 K's in one season! Not to mention hitting 2 HR's in the same week! Anyway, my husband and I still participate and attend many sporting events throughout the year. We even have 7 TV's in our basement with just about that many satellite receivers so we can catch all the games. Excessive, yeah...but oh so much fun!
My husband, Keith, and I have been married since 2/1/2003. We live in Westerville with our two daughters, Ava Jane~4, and Rubie Grace~2, and our dog Lewis. With this houseful we are constantly laughing and enjoying new adventures. We also enjoy spending our summers at Indian Lake to relax for some boating and swimming. In the winter, we enjoy spending time in Cadillac Michigan for some snowmobiling and skiing. On the side I have been selling lia sophia jewelry. I have quite a jewelry collection now and love meeting new people! We especially enjoy cooking and baking as a family, Ava and Rubie really get into it with us! Our kitchen becomes quite the meeting place! I hope we get to learn much about each other as the year progresses!
During my down time by myself I enjoy exercising and lifting weights, writing letters to friends, shopping, and reading a good book.
When I am with my family we enjoy traveling to visit family and friends, playing in our backyard, taking walks, and going to the horse track.
As you can tell I keep very busy. I truly enjoy teaching at the junior high level. I belong to the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics and the Ohio Council for Teachers of Mathematics. I enjoy bringing food into the class to learn, and other hands on items. I believe math is a language, speaking it would make math much easier! My students keep me on my toes, and make me smile! My hope is that my students learn as much from me that I learn from them each day! I try to model being a true-to-myself person who cares for others and listens to those around me.
