Is your child sick? According to Sr. Pat, when in doubt, keep them home. Your child's main task is to get healthy to resume school activity. If your child has periods of feeling "up to it", assignments that we recommend include:
COMPUTER: Go to Lial Website, follow Mrs. Jones' computer website suggestions.
MATH: Visit school rack. There are websites to supplement Math Facts. Also, click on Houghton Mifflin Math for games and chapter reviews/cumulative test prep. Practice facts, play flash card concentration.
SPELLING: If your child has his or her binder at home, the current spelling list should be in there to practice.
READING: READ! Snuggling up with a great book is a wonderful quiet restful activity while on the mend. Click on Houghton Mifflin Language Arts and find your level. There are great vocabulary
WRITING: Express yourself! Write a story, poem, letter or make a card for someone you care about.
RELIGION: Visit the Blessed Are We website. There are games, reviews and other related materials to supplement learning. What prayer do you need to learn? Write it and recite it! :)
HANDWRITING: What have you been working on in class? Write it on a tablet, dry erase board or chalkboard at home. How neat can you be?
Above all, we want your child back to school, but only when healthy. We are trying to respect your child's health, as well as the health of everyone at Lial, therefore, per the directives of Sr. Pat in Oct 13, 2009 envelope, PLEASE DO NOT ASK TEACHERS TO SEND HOME HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENTS. We will not be sending homework home until your child returns. The above list is sufficient for short term illness and we will work with you and your child to resume school activity upon return. Thank you for your cooperation.
