Start with chapter 5 and work your way back. When you complete a test, show your results to Mrs. Meads. I would like you to have completed at least Chapter 5 today, perhaps Chapter 4. You do not have to finish Chapter 4 for homework.
Week of October 19th
Math group A Monday: Took notes over section 2-2 (adding and subtracting integers) . Worked on Guided practice 2-2.
Homework: Practice workbook 2-2
Wednesday: Took notes on section 2-4, As classwork did problem solving problems in text book section 2-4.
Homework 2-4 practice WB
Math group B Monday: Discussed the differences between discete and continuous graphs. Did examples 1-3. Made large graphs (#4,9,&10) in groups for practice.
Homework Text book pg. 132, 11-18
Wednesday: Worked on section 3-5 page 132 problems 1-13
Homework: Chapter 3 review at least half. Start studying for quest Monday.
Math C:
Monday: Algebra 5-1 proportions-- we worked together on page 192 #28 -51
Homework: PWB 5-1
Tuesday: We worked on proportion word problems (WS 31) and 5-3 percent proportions and creating circle graphs: page 200 - 201.
Homework: WS 62 and 63 and PWB 5-3
Wednesday: We worked on percent Word Problems worksheets (WS CIA kids.com and WS 40)
Homework: finish worksheet if necessary and Logic puzzle #22 Gopher the Gold
Math group D Monday: Took notes on greatest common factors and least common multiple (both on individual numbers as well as monomials.
Homework: finish up math packet.
Wednesday: Half the class worked on making geometry notecards, half the class was spent taking notes on section 5-1 Defining rational numbers, whole numbers and integers. We discussed the relationship between the three different types of numbers.
Homework: Practice WB 5-1 all
Math E: Monday: We corrected the permutation and combination worksheet together
Homework: page 192 - 193 #30 - 51
Tuesday: We worked in the Geometry texts page 358 Example 3. Then we worked together on pages 360 - 361 #23 - 27 and Enrichment 5-1.
Wednesday: We took the permutation/combination quiz! Then we worked on percent word problems with worksheet 40 and CIA kids.com worksheet.
Homework: Finish worksheets and Logic Puzzle #22 Gopher the Gold.
Math group F Monday: Notes on factor trees. Did guided practice problems and word problems 63, 64, and 65.
Homework: Practice WB 2-6
Wednesday: Half the time spent working on geometry note cards, half the time taking notes on chapter 2-7 Greatest common factor.
