Savio News

This letter is from our Savio Club:

Dear Lial Families,

The Savio Club is doing a project called "Hoops for Heart."  "Hoops for Heart" raises money for The American Heart Association.  This project will be starting Jabnuary 17th and will end February 1st.  The whole school will be participating in "Hoops for Heart."  This is how it works:

1.  Get family and friends to sponsor you.

2.  Play basketball in Gym class.

3.  In the end, there will be a pep rally.

All the money raised goes to childrens' heart research.  If you have any questions, contact a Savio officer, (Justin Schnebelen, Katelyn Koralewski, Maverick Delp or Matthew Dills.)

                                                                          Sincerely,

                                                                          The Savio Club

p.s.  Watch for information in the white envelope.

Spanish news

¡Hola!

I wanted to let everyone know that I am planning to have a small "fiesta" type celebration for the last day of Spanish class (May 21st).  In addition to a few fun activities this day, I would also like to have some small, authentic finger foods for the students to sample if possible.  I will be sending home some simple recipe ideas this coming Monday with the children.  I will then have a sign up sheet for each class if they would like to bring in something to share (just with their small rotation group).

In addition, I would like to thank you for all your help so far with the at-home practice sheets.  I have more and more coming in each week :)

Gracias,

Señora Szyndler

Sr. Cheryl's Family Room Theme Basket for Mission Fair

It is Mission Fair time.  Sr. Cheryl's Family Room is collecting items to create a theme basket around the idea of "Movie Night".  Some items that the students suggested are:  fleece blanket, pillow, snacks, candy,  pop, DVD's or anything else that you would like to contribute for our basket.

Please send in items by the first week of May.

Thanks so much!

Sr. Cheryl
