Oak Openings trip reminders!

Next Wednesday, May 23, the Intermediate will travel by bicycle to Oak Openings for our annual Savio Olympic Games!  The bike trip is just under two miles  (each way) and we will be escorted both ways by the Waterville Township Police Dept.

If your child is biking, their working bicycle should be at school (parked in the grassy area outside the Falcoln Wing science and tech classrooms) by school time the morning of the trip.  A bike helmet is required for any rider.  We will share a bicycle safety video at school, but an at-home bike safety discussion could be a lifesaver.  We ask that students NEVER cross the road center line, and that they not race or ride carelessly.  Your help in reiterating this is appreciated.

Food and beverages are set for the day, but your child is welcome to bring a water bottle.  If they forget, there is a drinking fountain at the park picnic area for use until beverages are served.  There may be a bug or two joining our picnic day, so spray with bug spray in the morning!  If the sun is shining, make it a bug spray/sunscreen combo.

After the day's end, bikes will be available at dismissal time,  parked in the same area they were dropped off.  Helmets tend to look alike, so a name tape inside could ensure your child having his/her own helmet come home.

The day is always a good memory day!  We work together to make it so!  Thank you!
