Homework Thoughts
   
 

 ** If a student is two or more grade levels below in reading, they will need to read 90 minutes a day to catch up to those reading at grade level.  ~~ Janet Allen

 

**An increase in reading by 20 minutes per day can increase vocabulary by 1000 words per year.  ~~Janet Allen.

 

Some students need 9-11 repetitions, struggling students need as many as 25 repitions to learn new words.  ~~ Janet Allen

 Here are a few things to remember:

If you do not get your assignments done during class it becomes homework.

Always take your homework home to finish it.

If you miss school, ask the teacher for the assignments you missed, then do the work and turn it in as soon as possible.

If you do not understand how to do an assignment, ask questions.  Chances are at least five other students in the room have the same question as you.

 

 

 Knowledge is power.

 1.) 3 - ring binder , 2 inch diameter

2.) Number 2 pencils

3.) Mechanical pencils
4.) Erasable pens
5.) Dividers for 3 -ring binder
6.) Wide ruled, loose leaf paper
7.) Ruler
8.Calculator
9.) Erasers
10.) Pencil pouch for 3-ring binder
11.) Germ-x
12.) Tissues
 
**Remember to replenish these items as they run out.
 
** Using a 3 - ring binder can help the students stay organized
 
** Mechanical pencils are great.  Students do not have to get up during class time to sharpen their pencils.
