All About Me --
My name is Laurie Gaines, and I have had the privilege of working for the GSD for 11 years (five years at The Learning Center and six years at Gulfport High School). I received my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in education from Mississippi State University. I also have remedial reading, secondary English, and special education endorsements.
Originally from Jackson, MS, I have lived on the Mississippi Gulf Coast for 11 years.
Teaching children is very rewarding for me, and I enjoy working with children of all ages. My goal as an educator is to build self-esteem in children and to motivate them to be lifelong learners, problem solvers, and productive members of society.
