Keyboarding:

We moved to the on-line typing program.  Report cards for keyboarding are used daily.  On task, no peeking, posture are taken in account.  Students are required to get 15 words per minute, at 94% or better accuracy.  Students may now move at their own rate.

 www.typeonline.co.uk is the web site for keyboarding to practice at home.  Children may access this at home for free. Two other web sites to try would be www.freetypinggame.net and www.typingtest.com.

Evaluation

Students are evalutated on a quarterly basis. Parents also receive a mid-quarter Needs Accessment report between grading periods.

Teacher evaluation of classroom progress includes the following types of activities: student participation, grades, projects, graded reports, graded quizzes and graded tests.

 

Enrichment

In addition to regular classroom instruction, students will be exposed to: videos, maps, transparencies, field trips, media center, computer lab, and special speakers.
