Hello St. Lawrence families,

Thank you for making my first year at St. Lawrence a wonderful experience. The St. Lawrence community has been extremely supportive and caring. Although I will definitely miss the class of 2011, I look forward to working with my students next year towards their growth in becoming more confident and centered young men and women.

Next week is Screen awareness week – April 11-15

Family fun night - Tuesday, April 12, 6:00-7:30 pm

Please join the faculty on the evening of April 12 in doing all kinds of fun activities with your children. We want to show them during screen awareness week that there are healthy, stimulating, social and FUN alternatives to watching TV, playing video games and surfing the web. A complete list of events is coming in your e-mail, along with a letter from Mr. Dolan explaining the reasons for being aware of how much time students spend plugged in.

Tomorrow, Feb. 2nd, is Volunteer Appreciation Day. Please come by the Children's Center for the celebration. The St. Lawrence staff would like to show our appreciation and to let you all know how important you are to the success of SLEM.

Although it's the beginning of Feb. are you wondering what your child will do during the summer while you're busy at work? Well, St. Lawrence has the perfect answer. St. Lawrence is offering Summer Camp which is available to all students (so tell your friends too!) Hello Parents and Students,

Where has the time gone? It's the holiday season and Christmas is right around the corner. I hope that you have completed most of your shopping and decorating. But most of all, that you look forward to enjoying your time with family and friends.

Speaking of family.....

Are you wondering what your child will do during the school break while you're busy at work? Well, St. Lawrence has the perfect answer. During the holiday break, St. Lawrence is offering a Christmas Camp available to all students (so tell your friends too!) If you are interested in having your child attend, read the Christmas Camp flyer and signup your child on those days of interest. Please hurry to beat the deadline. If there is a lack of interest, Christmas Camp may not happen.

Hello Parents and Students,

Wow! There are lots of fun things to do this week! Oct. 25th to Oct. 29th is Spirit Week and I hope that students will enjoy participating in all the fun activities that are planned. Students will want to check the flyers in my room and their homeroom for details.

Thursday, Oct. 28th, is the Walk-A-Thon. Please come out and support the Walk-A-Thon and the efforts of students to generate money for a worthy cause. On Friday is the Senior Carnival and the morning parade.   

Friday, Oct, 29th, is the Middle School dance for 7th and 8th graders. This will be a great opportunity for students to spend an exciting evening with their friends while dancing to the latest tunes.

There is no school on Monday, Oct. 11th, in observance of Columbus Day.

Trimester parent/teacher conferences are this week, Oct. 12th to Oct. 15th, with classes ending at 12:30 pm. 

The 5th Annual Comedy Night at St. Lawrence is Saturday, Oct. 16th and should be a very enjoyable evening for all. Come and spend an evening with family and friends. The link to purchase tickets is available on the connection extension on the St. Lawrence elementary and middle school website.

It was certainly a pleasure meeting you at Back to School Night and I hope I was able to answer many of your questions. If not, feel free to contact me via email at kmoritz@saintlawrence.org.  

It was also very nice to see so many families at the Back to School Bar-B-Que.  It was wonderful seeing you and your children enjoying the great food and fantastic company of friends. Thank you again for the warm welcome that I've received from you all.

On Sept. 2nd, Live Scan will be onsite between 7:30-9:30 a.m for fingerprinting. This is a great opportunity for parents interested in volunteering at St. Lawrence to have their fingerprints done. The Diocese requires that all volunteers and employees are fingerprinted regardless of fingerprinting with an outside organization. Further details are available on the St. Lawrence website.

Hello and Welcome to Mrs. Moritz's Science Class!

I'm very excited about my arrival at St. Lawrence Elementary and Middle School and eager to teach you about the wonders of Science.

This week we will build a classroom community by participating in 'Getting to Know You' activities.
