Dear Parents,
We use the Pre-Algebra Text from McDougall-Littell in 7th grade for most of the students. My enrichment class aims to complete the entire text and do all the lessons while the other groups cut out some of the material as they work through the text and also don't finish as many chapters as us. This is a difficult and challenging bo0k even for the top students I am teaching, so be prepared for difficulties as we move along. I go through the book rather quickly but am always able and willing to slow the pace when it is necessary for the students to gain a better understanding of the content or to have more practice to develop skills. During the year, the class will do group work on challenge/enrichment activities in class but concentration on the book material is essential in 7th grade as I prepare them to take Algebra next year and to be successful on the 8th grade high school placement test next December.
