Ms. Kim Werner
Wow! As our eighth grade students leave us and we all move on to summer activities, it is time to reflect on our school year. Our school continues to grow as a family. We all know that families share love and share conflict lovingly. That holds true for us at David Lawrence Jr. K-8 Center. We truly are a family. We shared triumphs and setbacks. We reveled in successes and learned from our perceived failures. We discussed, argued and came full circle to do it again. We learned to appreciate one another. We cried. We cried with joy as our children accomplished things we told them they could do (but truth be told--weren't so sure!). We cried with anguish as many of our students experienced great loss in Haiti. There are no words--no words of understanding. There was only each of us here for the next and the next after that. Families suffer together. We suffered.
Yet we smile. We know that each morning holds the possiblity of renewal. Breathe. Breathe deeply. We will see you in the fall. Have a wonderful summer!
