Our new class read is Sixth Grade Can Really Kill You by Barthe DeClements.

New literary genre is Folktales, the oldest literature we know. Folktales include myths, legends, fables, tall tales, and fairy tales. Did you know that the story of Cinderella has 500 versions? It probably originated in China.

The new literary element we will explore is 'plot'.

Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 6B team! Please continue to encourage your student to read outside of school everyday for 15 to 30 minutes. If your 6th grader does not have a Berwyn library card yet, please consider doing so- the library has lots of books & audio-tapes, and offer many after school/Saturday activities. Our own Heritage library is now open. Students are allowed to take out 2 books from our huge collection for a 2 week period.
