Hello and welcome to our second grade class! My name is Kasey Kelley, and I am a second grade teacher at Bayou View Elementary School in Gulfport, MS. This is my second year teaching at Bayou View Elementary, and I am thrilled to be a part of such an AWESOME family! I am very fortunate to have the oppportunity to work with such outstanding educators and teach such terrific kids. I am looking forward to another fantastic year at BVE!
Wow! Where has the time gone? This is my 9th year teaching elementary education, and I've loved every minute of it. I graduated from Gulfport High School, http://www.gulfportschools.org, and received my Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, http://www.usm.edu. I have been teaching in the Gulfport School District for 9 years. This will be my second year teaching at BVE. I have experience teaching first grade, second grade, third grade, and fourth grade, and I completed my student teaching experience in kindergarten and fifth grade. I am certified in Elementary Education k-8th grades. I have an additional certification in Reading. I have been trained in numerous teaching programs including Thinking Maps, Ruby Payne, Differentiated Instruction, Project Read, and WOW. I love the profession that I chose because it is challenging, yet rewarding.
