About us ...

Information about us:

As the teacher in charge of the Green Team, I would like to make you all aware that we are starting up a recycling programme at Chesterhouse – starting with paper. We have placed a green box in all the main Junior and Senior School classrooms.  They will be emptied on a regular basis by our team and placed into the orange igloo in the Senior School parking lot.
The members of the Green Team
  • ZOE GILLIES
  • MISHKA MOHAMED
  • HEATHER BULLOCK
  • ASHLEY SOLOMONS
  • AMANDA ENGEL
  • ANISHA NAIDOO
  • CARA KOFFEMAN
  • KERSTIN HALL
KEEP UP THE FANTASTIC WORK, GIRLS!

What can you do to help?

Please make use of the igloo as much as possible to recycle your old newspapers, magazines etc. Also instead of throwing away your flat foamalite dishes, please encourage your children to bring them (washed and dried) to school.  The Art department will recycle them for you!

Our goals for the year include:
  • Getting the whole school involved in recycling (starting with paper – then moving on to glass and plastic)
  • Publishing a “Green” tip of the week (starting next week)
  • Making awareness posters
  • Running competitions
  • Creating Greenie badges / Designing a Greenie mascot etc.
  • Educating the D’urbanvale community about the importance of recycling (and then branching out into the Durbanville community at a later stage)

The Grrrrrrreen Recycling Team! :)
