2nd TERM
You will be creating a series of small paintings and drawings all revolving around WHATEVER YOU WANT .. you choose the theme.
Each week you will hand in a small painting or drawing .. the idea is to be experimental .. so I don't want pretty pictures .. what I do want you to do, is explore your medium as much as possible and apply what you've learnt e.g. elements and principles of art.
Here are some ideas:
- Personal / Symbolic objects
e.g. collections / jewelry / things in your room
- Hobbies
e.g. craft (e.g. beading) / sport / cars / music
- The Elements
e.g. fire / water / earth / air
- Concepts
e.g. love / life / numbers / colours / peace / imagination / broken / healed etc.
- Landscapes
e.g. Countries / nature / the beach / the woods
- Design
e.g patterns / shapes
- Still life
e.g. flowers / broken bottles / shells / cut fruit / car parts
- Portraits / Artists
e.g. people in the street / people in the Malls / people you admire / famous people (artists / singers / movie stars)

NB! THE STUDENTS WANTING TO TAKE ART NEXT YEAR HAVE NO CHOICE IN THE PRACTICAL QUESTION .. THE REST DO.

THEORETICAL COMPONENT (70)
- Know all the different elements genres & principles in detail
- Be able to explain or illustrate an element or genre
- Be able to analyse an artwork
