Español II / Teaching Assistant

Course description: Spanish II further develops the basics of grammar, builds vocabulary in the context of everyday events, and expands cultural knowledge of the Spanish-speaking world. Spanish conversation is encouraged and gradually increased during the course.

Books: ¡Ya verás! Segundo nivel. Some other sources: Easy Readers, Level 2 short stories of “Lola Lago detective,” Computerized vocabulary games, movies, videos and cassettes.

Teaching Assistant’s Duties for Spanish II:

  • The TA, using Power Point, Quia, and other media, will present to the class some grammar concepts and vocabulary related to the units that we are working on.
  • For each unit, the TA will create exercises, games, and quiz practices for the quarter’s quizzes and test.
  • Each quarter, the TA will also present one cultural aspect related to the main theme of the units that we are working on.
  • The TA will tutor struggling students.
  • The TA will address the class mostly in Spanish and be a pillar for an “Only in Spanish” atmosphere.
