We are very excited about our new Social Studies curriculum. It is fabulous. We will be learning about our wonderful state as well as United States History throughout the year. During the first six weeks, we will learn about the state symbols, landforms, and important people. This will be very much a hands on and interactive study.
As our first home project, students will create a Tennessee Salt Dough Map. Directions will be sent home and uploaded to the website at a later date. I am always amazed at the results we get from our students at W.E.S.!
Also, our new Social Studies curriculum is on-line accessible. It is very user friendly and I think the students will enjoy navigating it. It has audio as well as text files. The web site is listed below. Students will receive their username and password very soon.
