Welcome to Fourth Grade!

It was such a pleasure to meet each of you on registration day.  I can tell from all of the smiling faces that this promises to be a very exciting year. I will do my very best to keep those faces smiling.

Students are beginning to adjust to the work load and expectations of fourth grade.  This group of students has higher expectations of themselves than those I have had in the past.  I admire their determination for success.  Remember - Failure Leads to Success!  It is how you respond to the failure that determines your success.

If your child is struggling, there are several things that will be helpful.  Reading Science and Social Studies lessons at home is vital.  For Social Studies, you can simply go to the www.ExperienceStateHistory.com  website and read the text or listen to the audio.  This is an excellent resource.  Another option would be to come to Mrs. Ann's Morning Homework Club.  Mrs. Ann allows students to arrive at 6:30 am through her exterior door in front of the building.  She works with students on Spelling and Math at the board, allows them a quiet place to work on homework or read their AR book, and will also help them study for Science and Social Studies.  This is a wonderful asset for our fourth graders.  Take advantage of it if at all possible.
