Education

   I completed my undergraduate work at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama.  I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech Communication in 1990.  War Eagle!!!

   In December of 2001, I received my Masters Degree from Piedmont College in Early Childhood Education.

   In August of 2005, I will be attending Lincoln Memorial University in Ducktown, Tennessee in order to complete my Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

 

    

Experience

   This is my fourth year teaching at Jefferson Elementary School.  For two years I taught 4th grade; however, this is my second year in 1st grade where I hope to stay.  I am enjoying this period of development and the opportunity to see such rapid progress in learning.

Family

   I grew up in south Alabama where most of my family remains.  I am married to Jay Joiner, 1985 graduate of Jefferson High School.  We have been married for thirteen years, ten of which we have lived in Jefferson.  Jay and I are pleased to have the opportunity to raise our children (Cannon-11 and Price-8) in such a warm and thriving community. I am proud to be a member of the faculty at Jefferson Elementary and hope to remain here for many years to come.
