Art Class Overview
Art plays an essential role in the daily lives of people and is essential to the expression of human experience. An understanding and appreciation of the arts is an essential attribute of an educated person.
The arts help foster success in the world and work by cultivating essential skills such as problem solving, creative thinking, effective planning, time management, teamwork, effective communication and an understanding of technology.
Class Overview
This course will introduce students to the visual arts through a variety of methods. Selected art history and appreciation will be presented in conjunction with related studio assignments. The combined study of art history and studio art will enable students to learn the basics of art. The elements of lines, color, shape, form, space, texture, and value will be the foundation used with principles of design to create works of art in diverse media.
