Please refer to the links in order to find more information on past seasons of these sports. I will make weekly announcements in season for updates about upcoming meets. Final Standings: Girls 8th in CSC with a 10-9 record; Boys 6th with a 17-7 record. Have a great summer and remember--the off season does not exist. Train well over the summer.
Athlete Rules
Grasso Tech Cross Country Rules 2008
- Practice is mandatory. A total of 3 unexcused absences will result in removal from a meet. A total of 5 in one season will result in removal from the team.
- Any missed meets may result in removal from the team.
- Athletes not present and checked in by the team manager by 2:10 will count as one tardy. 3 tardies equal 1 missed practice.
- Athletes not picked up within 15 minutes of the end of practice will be counted as having a tardy.
- You must tell the coach if you get injured or are sick. If you are injured or sick, you still need to get to practice unless sent home by the nurse during the school day—this does not mean you will actually be working out, just that you will be helping your team.
- All athletes must maintain the utmost sportsmanship at all times. Swearing or poor behavior at meets will get you disqualified from a meet and removed from the team.
- Failure to turn in a uniform (or turning in a damaged uniform) at the end of the season will result in a $40 charge from the school.
- You must have a valid permission slip and physical form on file with the nurse ASAP (preferably before the end of the school year). Whether or not you think you have valid forms, check with the nurse ASAP as she needs to generate a list to get to the coaches.
- You are encouraged to occasionally, respectfully question the coaches’ judgment concerning training, meet strategy, etc. The coaches have final ruling in all matters concerning the team. Any disrespect given about any ruling (regardless of circumstances) will not be tolerated and is grounds for removal from the team.
- This form must be returned to the team manager signed by both you and your parent immediately in order for you to be eligible to start running.
- Any athlete found engaging in any illegal activity on school grounds (fighting, stealing, possession of illegal substances or items, etc.) will not be allowed to join the team and/or will be immediately removed from the team. This happened last year and I hope it does not happen again.
- There will be no inappropriate displays of affection by/to anyone on the team. Warnings will be given, but repeated offenses can lead to removal from the team.
I, _________________________, agree to abide by all of the above rules and regulations and realize that any infractions of the above rules will result in dismissal from the team.
