CLASSROOM PROCEDURES

When you enter the classroom, sign in and go directly to your seat. You should log on and begin your assignments. You should not socialize with your neighbors. Remain on task until you are instructed to end your work for the day. If you have questions or computer problems, raise your hand and wait to be acknowledged.

FIRST NINE WEEKS

All work should be done individually and not shared with other students. Anyone caught cheating will receive a zero. You must have five or less total errors per lesson in order for it to be acceptable. Any assignments turned in with more than five errors will receive a grade of 68 for quality, however, if you circle all errors, you will receive 100 points for proofreading. The first grade on your paper represents your quality grade; the second grade represents your proofreading grade i.e. 92/100. If I find your errors, I deduct five points. If you find your errors, I deduct one point. Be sure to check your work carefully before turning it in.

Turn lessons in as you complete each one. Place your completed lessons, by class period, in the tray that is located on my desk. DO NOT GO ON TO ANOTHER LESSON UNTIL YOU HAVE TURNED IN YOUR COMPLETED LESSON.

You should file all graded assignments in your folder that is located in the tan file cabinet, behind my desk, in the drawer of your class period. Any papers not filed, will be disposed of.

Students that are in violation of the SCS Dress Code will be referred to an administrator. Be sure to dress appropriately every day.

FIRST NINE WEEKS' REQUIREMENT

Students are required to complete four keying sections. These sections are Alphabetic, Numerical, Skill Building, and Numeric Keypad. This is a computerized software program and students are allowed to work at their own pace but should reach each weekly goal.

Students will receive technique grades for the first half of the first nine weeks. After Progress Reports, technique grades are not averaged in with the students overall grade.

If students do not reach the weekly goal, a zero will be entered for each lesson that is missing but students can turn the work in later and the zero will be deleted. If students waste time in class, they are not allowed to stay after school on Catch-Up Days.

The cut-off date will be announced for each grading period and no assignments will be accepted after that date.
