Instructional Management Plan

Instructional Management Plan - Room 137

  • ARRIVE TO CLASS ON TIME. Tardiness will not be tolerated. Students will sign the tardy log when tardy for ANY reason whether excused or unexcused and receive punishments as set forth in the student handbook. Notes from teachers will NOT be accepted.  Students will be in the appropriate assigned seat inside classroom when tardy bell rings. Students will already have blue slips for absences if needed before tardy bell rings.

  • ENTER CLASSROOM IN A BUSINESS/PROFESSIONAL MANNER. Go directly to your assigned seat and get logged in while I check roll. Begin the bell ringer assignment, which is to access and look at new I-high articles.  This is to be completed by the time roll is finished. You will get a grade each nine weeks for your bell ringer.

  • ARRIVE TO CLASS WITH NECESSARY SUPPLIES.  Pen/pencil, paper, student handbook.

  • NO FOOD OR DRINK IS ALLOWED IN THE COMPUTER LAB.

  • INVENTORY YOUR WORKSTATION. Do this at the beginning and ending of each class. Be CERTAIN you have a mouse and pad, CPU, keyboard, monitor, and book holder. Report any markings and damages on you desk and equipment immediately.  You will be responsible for a book that is to be kept in class at all times.

  • HAVE WATER/OFFICE/LOCKER AND OTHER NEEDS TAKEN CARE OF BEFORE CLASS. Bathroom breaks will be given in cases of emergency ONLY.  Take care of needs before school, at break, and during lunch. If you must leave for some reason, you will take a HALL PASS.

  • RESPECT TEACHER AND OTHER CLASSMATES AT ALL TIMES. Everyone is entitled to an education. Do NOT show disrespect by interrupting others conversations or belittling other’s remarks. Students will not talk while teacher is lecturing. Sleeping is NOT allowed in the classroom.

  • THERE WILL BE NO PLAYING WITH THE COMPUTER EQUIPMENT AND IN THE LAB. It will be your responsibility to pay for anything you destroy. If you notice something wrong with your workstation and computer, it is your responsibility to report it at the beginning of the class.

  • KEEP HANDS, FEET AND OBJECTS TO YOURSELF. Do not bother anything that does not belong to you (backpacks, papers, paper clips, rubber bands, etc). My desk, computer, and scanner are off-limits unless permission is granted.

  • WORK QUIETLY AND REMAIN IN YOUR SEAT. Ask permission to talk, trim pencil, throw away paper, etc.

  • COMPLETE ALL ASSIGNMENTS ON TIME AND ON YOUR OWN. Attempts to pass off work that is not yours will result in an automatic F. You will not be allowed to work ahead on assignments unless you know you will be out during the next class period. You must get permission from the teacher to do this. If you complete the day’s assignment early, you can play computer games on hard drive (Solitaire, etc.) and complete research on the Internet. You must use school guidelines for accessing the Internet. You cannot leave the room to loaf.

  • ALL ASSIGNMENTS MUST BE COMPLETED IN THE LAB DURING SCHOOL. No student will be allowed to complete work at home unless cleared by teacher.

  • ATTENDANCE POLICY WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. Makeup tests will be completed during ASD.  Class work for excused absences will be completed before school (7:15), at break, during study hall, or after school according to handbook procedures.  It is YOUR responsibility to ask for makeup work! If you miss one day, you have one day to make up work, two days for two absences, etc.

  • THERE WILL BE NO WRITING IN OR ABUSE OF BOOKS OR EQUIPMENT. Books are numbered per workstation and stationed on the book cart. Be certain you have the correct book and books are placed back in the cart in numeric order. No books will be allowed to leave the room.

  • KEYBOARDING STUDENTS will be issued weekly assignment sheets, which will be kept in keyboarding book.  All assignments will be checked daily from monitor. A grade will be recorded each week from the completion of the assignment sheets. Random assignments will be printed for separate grades.

  • GRADES WILL CONSIST OF DAILY WORK (monitor check or printed material), BELL RINGERS, WRITTEN TESTS, AND PERFORMANCE TESTS.  All grades will be accessible to you and your parents through Engrade.

  • STUDENTS WILL NOT ACCESS ANY QUESTIONABLE WEBSITES OR PROGRAMS IN THE LAB.  This includes and is not limited to messenger & chatting, facebook, myspace, online games and email.  Students will NOT change any display settings (backgrounds, fonts, etc.) unless authorized otherwise.  You WILL change your home page to I-high.

  • KEEP THE ROOM AS TIDY AS POSSIBLE. When leaving, be sure you have straightened your computer workstation and picked up around your desk for trash. Place your chair under your desk when you leave.
