My name is Holly Sparks, and I am beginning my second year as a member of the B.V.E. family. I live in Gulfport with my husband, Shawn, and our two wonderful dogs, Honey and Saki.

While I do currently live in Gulfport, I am not a native of the area. My father was in the U.S. Navy, and we moved quite a bit when I was a child. With that said, I did spend most of my first twenty years in the Atlanta area. After graduating from Sequoyah High School in Canton, GA, I attended both Georgia Southern University and Kennesaw State University where I was a pre-pharmacy major. After a long hiatus from school, I enrolled at Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach and earned an Associate of Science degree. Upon relocating to Gulfport, I enrolled in the Elementary Education program at the University of Southern Mississippi and completed my Bachelor of Science degree with endorsements in science, math, and reading.

In my spare time, I enjoy going to the movies, traveling, and spending time with my husband and dogs. During the fall, I love to watch college and professional football. My husband and I are huge Georgia Bulldogs fans and try to attend games in SEC territory when possible. During the spring and summer, we love to watch the Atlanta Braves whenever the games are televised.

I am so very excited to have another school year upon us! I am looking forward to teaching science to all our fine 5th grade students during the upcoming school year, and I cannot wait to see what we learn together! Let's have fun while learning about the world around us!
