Hermit Crabs

Hermit crabs have personalities just like you and me.  Some hermit crabs are shy; some will go into their shells, some will be more active, and some will attack.  Hermit crabs are herbovores.  Most crabs can be tamed.  Sometimes hermit crabs are aggressive and they are known to pinch with their pincers.  They are very social animals.  They should be kept in groups of two or more.  Some are afraid of falling, however, they will walk right of off the edge of a table.  Many types of hermit crabs will live near salt water beaches. They have been know to be very good escape artists.
