About Me!!

I have enjoyed teaching young children now for many years. I am "old looking on the outside," but young at heart! I love teaching with a passion! It has been my life's calling since I was very young!
I am a person of faith, and I strive to deepen that faith every day in my personal walk. I make every effort to live out my faith to the best of my ability in my daily walk in my profession, whether it be with my relationships with my employers, co-workers, parents, staff, or the children with whom I have in my care for the school year. It is a joyful, peaceful way to live daily!
I enjoyed teaching sailing when I was younger, and I loved the teaching involved, and seeing the accomplishments of all ages....this was truly hands-on learning!
I have written a few successful grants for our school in the past, and this gave me a great satisfaction!
I have also enjoyed taking graduate courses to continue to learn, throughout the years. I love technology, Promethean boards, and ...teaching it to the children!
I have taught in Omaha, Nebraska, and in Mississippi.
I find each new year, with all its possibilities, very exciting, and challenging! I hope to take each child from where they currently are academically, and challenge them to reach their highest potential by the end of the school year.
In addition to academics, my goals are: to teach critical thinking to your child in every subject, to teach humor and to laugh together daily as we move along through the year, to inspire your child towards spontaneous acts of kindness, compassion, and generosity, and to become increasingly aware of the importance of staying healthy, and safe.
I also love to see new beginnnings every day, and look for ways to enlighten and change perspectives towards diversity in others, develop work ethics in our young students, and instill a joy for learning about the world as well as increasing knowledge.
I hope to instill a love of nature and the world around us....and enjoy the children as they display the wonder in discovery as they learn about their world. To observe nature, and to appreciate it as well, was a gift my parents gave me. It is a great gift, and I want to develop it as fully as possible with my little charges (Second Graders)!
Thank you for the honor of teaching your child. It is a trust... that I strive to give you the very best Second Grade experience she/he can possibly have!
And a P.S. ....
I love to laugh, and I enjoy funny books and children's jokes, no matter how silly! Nothing makes me happier than to see your child happy and enjoying school while they learn!
