A.R.
Accelerated Reader:
Students will be assigned grades by their Reading teacher based on their performance on their progress toward reaching their A.R. goal.
Students are expected to read each evening for 30 minutes. Each student will check out two new library books each time they have read and returned their old ones. Students should be taking A.R. tests as soon as they finish reading a book. All students are expected to meet their A.R. Goal each marking period.
Each student will receive two grades that are averaged into their final reading grade each marking period for AR. One grade is their percentage of goal. The second grade is their percentage correct. Students should try to maintain a score of 80% or above for their percentage correct. All tests that are taken must be within their reading range.
Please remind your child to read each evening for 30 minutes. This is a home learning requirement. Students will not have a problem reaching their goal if they adhere to this schedule.
