English..........
Spelling 10%
The grades will be from spelling tests and simple spelling assignments. You will not have a spelling test every week. There will be between three and four spelling tests per nine weeks.
English 70%
The grades will come from English tests, writing assignments, presentations, daily journal, Dols, grammar practice, participation, following directions, projects, and vocabulary development exercises. (Tests will be 35% and daily grades will be 35%)
Exam 20% (No exam 3rd nine weeks)
Reading...........
AR 20%
The grades for AR come from three categories.
1. the reading log and documentation of books read
2. the percentage of points attained towards AR goal
3. the average score from AR tests
Other Reading 60%
This includes tests, vocabulary and comprehension exercises, reading and responding to literature, class participation, following directions, projects, and group activities. (30% for tests and 30% for daily grades)
Exam 20% (No exams third nine weeks)
