CLASSES I TEACH

8th Grade Exploratory -- COMPUTER LITERACY

In this course, students are preparing for an end-of-the-year test covering various benchmarks in computer operations. Your student will receive a syllabus that you will be shown and prompted to sign that includes outlines and expectations. This is a one-semester course.

7th Grade Exploratory -- PRESENTATION SKILLS

In this course, students are learning how to research, build, prepare for, and present in a public speaking capacity, utilizing (mainly) MS-Powerpoint in an advanced capacity. Courses like this are intended to build student confidence, as well as familiarize them with software and presentation tools that will be useful throughout their educational and chosen life careers. This is a single-quarter credit.

6th Grade Exploratory -- DESKTOP PUBLISHING

In this course, students will learn photography skills, software skills, and design skills that can be use for presentations, advertising, self-promotion, and future job searches, just to name a few. It allows students the opportunity to show responsibility with cameras and various hardware, as well as show/express their own creativity in various areas. This is a single-semester course.

MEET THE TEACHER!

As a 24-year veteran of Madison CUSD #12, I am proud to be working in my final year before retirement at the Madison Middle School as their computer Exploratory teacher.  I am also teaching a class in the MSSC section under Tracey Brown for Teen Moms.  It will be the equivalent of the same course/credit taught at the high school (which I taught for 23 years), called COMPUTER LITERACY.  Because this MSSC course is only taught 3 days a week in the first semester and 2 days a week in the second semester, it is scheduled as a one-year course.

Parents and teachers who need to contact me may reach me at the Middle School, 618-876-6409, Ext. 3444.  The "best time" will be after school, at 3:10 p.m., though I will be happy to entertain callers and return phone calls during other times as needed.
