Policies and information for this course can be found in the Chemistry Syllabus.
Students will need a scientific calculator and be knowledgable about its use. I use a TI-30X and have found that it is very easy for basic use, and only costs around $10.
Other tools that will be used frequently are the periodic table (each student will get their own high quality copy) and a Common ion sheet.
Each student will have to memorize the name and symbol for several elements that we will be talking about often. Students will be quizzed over these names and symbols and must earn 80% or better in order to receive a grade on the quiz. The list of elements can be found here. Elements and symbols to know
Students will also make a CHEMO card so we can play CHEMO in class and get familiarized with the names and symbols. Instructions for the cards are found here.Chemo Card Assignment
