Organization

Audience cannot understand presentation because there is no logical sequence of information. (4‑5 pts)

Audience has some difficulty following presentation because student jumps around. (6‑7 pts)

Student presents information in logical sequence which audience can follow. (8‑9 pts)

Student presents information in logical, interesting sequence which audience can follow.  (10 pts)

Captions Content

Captions are typically confusing or contains more than one factual error. (20-30 pts)

The captions are generally accurate, but one piece of information is clearly flawed or inaccurate. (35 pts)

Most of the captions are accurate but there is one piece of information that might be inaccurate.(45-50 pts)

All captions throughout the presentation are accurate. There are no factual errors.

Graphics

Student uses superfluous graphics or presentation slides are text only and includes 10 frames or less.

(4 pts)

Student occasionally uses graphics that lend little support to screen text and presentation and includes 11 or 12 frames.

(10-12 pts)

Student's graphics relate to screen text and presentation included 13-14 frames. (15 pts)

Student's graphics explain and reinforce screen text and presentation and includes at least 15 frames.

Mechanics

Presentation had four or more spelling and/or grammatical errors. (2 pts)

Eye Contact

Student reads all of presentation with no eye contact.

Student occasionally uses eye contact, but still reads most of report. (2 pts)

Student maintains eye contact most of the time but frequently returns to notes or reading PowerPoint screen. (4 pts)

Student maintains eye contact with audience, seldom returning to notes or reading from PowerPoint screen (5 pts)

Delivery

Student mumbles, mispronounces terms and/or speaks too quietly for students in the back of room to hear.

(1-2 pts)

Student mispronounces terms. Student's voice is so low that students in the back have difficulty hearing.

(3-4 pts)

Student's voice is clear.  Student pronounces most terms correctly.

(5-6 pts)

Student's voice is clear. Student uses correct, precise pronunciation of terms.

(7 pts)

Time

Student outside of 30% of time allotment.

(0 pts)

Student stays within 30% of time allotment. (1 pt)

Student stays within 20% of time allotment.

(2 pts)

Student stays within 10% of time allotment. (3 pts)
