Biomes!
We had a wonderful time at the zoo, and it was a great time to go because we are starting the fascinating world of animals!
Be prepared to start studying the natural habitats of animals. We are going to be learning all about biomes. What is a biome? A biome is a large geographical area of distinctive plant and animal groups, which are adapted to that particular environment. The climate and geography of a region determines what type of biome can exist in that region. Major biomes include deserts, forests, grasslands, tundra, and several types of aquatic environments. We will be focusing on the different types of biomes and what lives within each.
After biomes we will be studying classification of animals.
Keep in mind: We are going to be doing a biome project in the beginning of May. You will need a shoe box for this project!
